Auto-Select

Auto-Select pre-fills the merge modal with recommended field values based on your configured merge strategies. The modal opens ready to merge — review, adjust if needed, and confirm.

The toggle is located in the footer of the merge modal and is on by default. Works for both single-object and cross-object merges.

Requirements​

Auto-Select requires a configured Merge Rule with a Master Record Strategy and a Field Value Strategy.

If no Merge Rule is configured, enabling Auto-Select shows:

"To enable Auto-select, please configure and save Auto-Merge Rule first."

How Recommendations Are Built​

Auto-Select uses your Merge Rule to select the master record, then applies the Field Value Strategy to all fields. Overridden Field Value Strategies (e.g. Longest Text, Combine Values, Flow) are applied on top.

This is the same logic used by auto-merge — Auto-Select is effectively a preview of what auto-merge would do.

Manual Overrides​

Click any field to override the recommendation. If you turn the toggle off and back on, recommendations are re-fetched — your manual overrides are not restored.

When the toggle is turned off, fields reset to the master record's original values.
