Matching Rule Settings

Additional configuration for a matching rule. Accessed by clicking "Edit" on a rule from the Matching Rules list, or via the Settings option in the gear menu on the Duplicate Report page.

Available sections depend on the rule type:

Merge Modal → Additional Fields	Single-object rules only
Reparenting → Excluded Relations	Custom objects only (not Account, Contact, Lead, Case)

Additional Fields

Extra fields to show in the merge modal, beyond what the page layout includes. Use this when you need to see a field's value to make an informed merge decision.

Excluded Relations

When records are merged, No Duplicates re-parents all child records to the master. Excluded Relations lets you skip specific child relationships — records in those relationships will remain on the duplicate and be deleted with it.

Available for custom objects only. Applies to both manual merge and auto-merge.
